It's just pathetic. I am sure he already knows the dangers. Living in PA, where fracking has become a nightmare, I know that horror stories have been exchanged between our 2 states. But money talks louder than words.

Fracking involves exemptions from almost every environmental law there is. It involves dangerous chemicals and contaminates groundwater. Deep aquifers have been shown to sometimes naturally connect to near surface aquifers. You can't UNDO injection of dangerous chemicals deep underground. Plus we have a surplus of natural gas already, and vehicle efficiency is the best way to reduce imports of oil

I've signed, there are also letters that can be created and addressed to the agencies involved with NYS determinations on this topic found on "United for Action" a site run by Daivid Braun and the Catskill Moutainkeeper another site advocating comments on the proposed regulations submitted to the Governor's office: both sites provide easy guidelines to specific points cited from the regulations and areas that we should comment on where these regulations fall far short of what must be applied before ever submitting life-forms to this health jepoardizing activity.

Cuomo e'stronzzo! You would think the governor after the devastating damage of SUPER STORM SANDY, that to continue to fricking/fracking is just one more loaded addition to CLIMATE CHANGE. Sadly, he who has the gold rules and the rest of us must pay for our own destruction. (.......

Money rules over the environment for too many government officials. Someday, though, their poisons will get them too...

Thank you, Cal! I used to live in both NYC and the lovely Catskill Mountains, from which NYC gets its water, and the thought of Cuomo putting not only the water, but all the beauty and diversity of these grand old mountains in jeopardy is terrifying. Near Delhi, NY on Rte 10 there is a nesting pair of bald eagles, thousands of people stop to watch them hunt in the marsh and in hopes of catching a glimpse of their emerging off-spring. While waiting for a horse competition at the Delaware County fair, a bald soared low across the mountain and everyone in the bleachers rose with a soft cry of awe. How often, as I walked or sat quietly in the forest, did I see fox, scarlet tanager, or if sitting silent, have deer and fox and groundhog forage near. How often had the joy of finding rare wild flowers or a tiny red eft with the turn of a leaf. In spring the Catskills are so verdant, the very air is green. In fall the sky becomes the deepest blue you can imagine in contrast to the brilliant red, orange and yellow of maple, oak and birch. How dare he put this in harm's way, both the immediate dangers of fracking and the ever escalating danger of climate change. I have signed so many petitions, written letters. Thank you for helping others do the same.
