The FBI's surveillance of Occupy is an explicit warning by the security services to all who consider dissent.

This i do not believe - " Barack Obama—that has empowered the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security to silence the voices and obstruct the activity of citizens who question corporate power". The President is not a member of the John Birch Society Republican Party changed to the tea party when they declared to bring down the government and run it like a corporation. Be careful what you read and print. The J.B.S. TeaParty are undermining us. Remember John Bircher Barry Goldwater ? May the rest of them be with him soon. This is a crock of stinking stuff if you blame the President for trying to corporatize america.
God bless us all and don't allow us to let our lives be run by fear mongers. Fire those John Birch Teaparty Traitors.

Noted. This whole issue is murky, but I think Trish makes a good point.

Hogwash. Every government has eyes on protests. They had better. Many troublemakers and criminals use the cover of protests for their activity. There is no silencing. Yes this person had bad luck. But instead of blaming the government she had better be looking to her own survival and success.
It is very easy to blame others and while it may be true to some extant that the illegal doings hastened the downturn one cannot survive by blaming.

As an occasional demonstration attender I am not worried. I doubt if I am watched at all.

Noted. Quite worrisome. Since I'm just a tiny fish in an enormous ocean, I will continue what I'm doing. As we continue to add more people to our various movements, I think the "data collectors" might go nuts trying to follow all of us....lol.
