“We know that on the other side of our border with Syria today, the Syrian army has moved away, and in its place global jihad forces have moved in”, said Netanyahu during his weekly cabinet meeting, referring to radical Islamist fighters who have joined the war against the Syrian regime.

The Israeli leader said the frontier with Syria should be fortified with a structure similar to the ultra-modern barrier being completed along the border with Egypt in the Sinai peninsula, which includes cameras, radars and motion detectors.

Unfortunately Israel has to build fences on all its borders to prevent its primitive Arab neighbours from attacking its citizens.

Where and why would you come up with such a statement John? Is Israel solely supported by the US? If you believe this, you are far from wrong.

Sic!!! He is imprisoning the israeli people too, with all these apartheid walls and fences! The world is wise to israel's role of playing 'victims' when in reality they are the oppressors!

Shame Israel!!

Shame USA !! for being silent in the face of genocides committed on innocent palestinian people, by the nazi zionist israeli government!

AGAIN, are you suggesting Israel has any interest in the Syrian conflict? Yes, it does sound like "Nety" - protect Israel at all costs.

Send a Green Star to Allan Yorkowitz

Sending a Green Star is a simple way to say "Thank you"
You cannot currently send a star to Allan because you have done so within the last week.

Thanks Cal - we can always depend on you to bring us the latest news from Israel. It's sad to see how many of the comments just foster old prejudices.

Fencing in Jews used to be the Nazi thing now their leaders do it.

Greg K. You obviously don't know the difference between fencing in Jews and fencing out terrorists.
Every country would benefit from having a strong leader like Netanyahu to take care of its security.

WOW. Mary P., Greg K., Gary A L., Lee E.-- did any of you actually READ the article??? If some of the "innocent" jihadists are prevented from entering into Israel, it will save THEIR lives, not to mention Israelis. How you manage to twist this into an attack on Syrians and Palestinians, I can't figure out.

I would respectfully suggest you see this clip, from a British officer to the United Nations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FWrQ7RXvWc&sns=em

It's a great clip, Dori, but confusing some of these bigots with the truth is a futile exercise.
You could fit their total knowledge of Middle East politics on the back of a stamp.

No Mary, the world is tired from Islamic terrorism its huge inconveniences to the civilized world. I want to prevent Jihadists from coming to Canada no less, than Israelis want prevent Jihadists from coming to Israel.

You can symphatize with these murderers and racists, imposing Sharia and racist taxes on Syrian minorities, including Christians, but you want get huge support for them here.

I support Stan B. and Alexandra R. Also, it's easy to critisize Israelis actions when we, ourselves, are not in the 'hotbed' of contentions.

It's difficult to take Mary Pee seriously. Her rabid Jew/Israeli hatred, articles about which she obsessively posts and her atrocious writing skills and spelling make it clear that she's not playing with a full deck of cards.

Her raison d'etre is hating Jews, and her belief in the goon-ideology of Islam gave her the justification and vehicle from which to do it.

I wish these radical jihadist Islamists would get out of Syria..... I have friends who are Syrians and they are not happy with these terrorists who took over their towns and villages..... I can well understand why Israel wants to protect it's borders now that these extremists are knocking at their back door.... What I don't understand is why we here in the U.S are backing these so called freedom fighters at all?

Devon, Muslim Brotherhood got several of its people into senior position in Obama's administration. Look what happened to the whole Arab Middle East: it is not under occupation of that Muslim Brotherhood.

Started as a democracy, it turns into theocracy and dictatorship. One country after the other, with US steadily supporting the worst possible extremists, like they did while ago with Taleban.

I explain this by the great power of Muslim and, especially, Saudi lobby. They've got enough money to buy everything and everyone. They spend millions on indiictrinating young people everywhere, including US. And they can make Obama to bow to Saudi king. What more evidence do we need!
