Tens of millions of sharks and rays are killed each year to meet demand for shark fin, a delicacy across East Asia. A new film, Manta Ray of Hope, aims to change that.

I hope this films make more people aware of the destruction and death that a soup is causing in our all ready fragile oceans. The anger and disgust I feel every time I read about the millions of sharks killed makes me want to go out and do the same to shark killers and shark fin soup eaters and now learning about the manta rays. We humans are really disgusting! Thanks Cal!

Let's hope it helps. This is such a disgusting thing to eat. There are so many other food choices. Don't know why people want these "delecacies". What if people brains were a delicassy? would we kill each other for that?

Noted with hope.
I saw a beautiful spotted eagle ray die in my dinghy after a bout with a school of blacktip sharks that lived under my boat in the Virgin Islands when I was there,
The bleeding ray jumped into the dink and died there,I believe in signs, and the boat's engine blew up the next day.

They are such beautiful and graceful creatures. We need to protect the animals we share this earth with instead of using them for soup and money in someones pocket. When will humans learn and stop the killing????

It is a shame the eating habits and treatment practices of Asians are doing such harm to these creatures.

Thanks Cal for this information. I had no idea these dastardly people were also slicing off Manta Rays fins.

We need to educate, educate and then educate people about what is going on around this world. The power of the people will get this cruelty stopped.
