Thanks Cal for the link to the article. The massive tonnage of lost fishing nets is astounding and will take immense resources to counter the threat to sea life. Kudos to CSIRO and GhostNets Australia for the research and efforts. Read and noted.

The photo of the sea turtle wrapped in a ghostnet as though caught in a hangman's noose was ghastly! Thanks, Cal, for bringing the plight of marine life and the good work of Ghostnets Australia to our attention.
