The challenge has been made - a ground-breaking speech with something for just about everyone. This is a man on a mission. Loved it.

It was a great speech -- and he propted the citizens to make him enact it! Climate change, fillibuster change, social security and medicare/aid - these are what the rich in our country want to deprive the poor of -- it is the call of the "people" to preserve!!!!

I also thought he flipped a finger toward the right-wing fundies who want to impose their values on the rest of us.....this is NOT a snow-white, Christian, heterosexual, womenathomeintheirproperplace world.

While the insanitea Republicans deserve every smackdown available, it is a complete error to characterize our centrist President as a liberal. His first term was almost a complete betrayal of the progressive left, the second term doesn't promise to be any better. This is a President who actively ran from the term "climate change" during the campaign. However, if he wants to prove that his campaign promises are more than just the cheap talk that he is so gifted at, then he could do no better than to implement, at least in part, the key elements of the Green New Deal. Otherwise, once again the capitalists that are the Democratic Party will have once again sold the Left down the river.

Noted. End of article says it's "time to start shouting." Well, I've been shouting awhile, along with many others, hoping for our voices to be heard on fracking, Keystone, drones, NDAA, prosecuting banksters....It was a very nice speech, like so many of his other speeches. I'm just way past ready for the Pres. I have now voted for put his money where his mouth is.

Not a lover of the Tea Party, all Obama did was make a speech. The :smack down: will be his actions.

Great speech. Can't get much more rousing for 'we the people' than that. He wouldn't be the first pres. to tel the people to stop relying or blaming 'the gov't.' for all woes. 'The gov't.' is such a catch all term for anyone who is not taking full responsibility for themselves---in other words blame others or other things all the time.
