All the collateral damage to her grieving family caused by a pack of thoughtless, mindless, angry young men, for what reason ?
I hope this sad death helps to change many laws to protect all people in India from violent crime.
No child should die in vain.

Perhaps her death will help polarize people....maybe.....

If the law doesn't sort out those filthy criminals, the Pink Gang will. Poor girl.

This is so sad. The entire system is breeding this behaviour. We need to solve the problems at the core - societal issues, economic, cultural, educational, and those concerning equality, especially for women.

Noted. Thanks, Cal. I'm not up on history there, but just wondering if things haven't soured since the death of Mother Teresa. It seems she had quite great influence there during her time.....

Cal this tragedy calls upon us to act - now!
I posted this Action Alert earlier today which I invite everyone to sign & share - Please.

Here is part of the text from this petition:

The Global Fund for Women along with grantees in India, the International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence in Conflict, and sister organizations in the United States* demand the United Nations, under Ban Ki-moon’s leadership, pressures world leaders to make ending sexual violence a top priority.

Please join us to take action now. Sign the petition below and the Global Fund, with our partners, will deliver your signatures to the United Nations Secretary General this March when the UN Commission on the Status of Women meets to discuss ending violence against women.

Cal and friends on Care2
To honor the memory of Jyoti Singh Pandey whose life was TAKEN so young, it's not enough for us to just sigh & say 'too bad ... too sad' etc.
I posted the link to sign a petition to END RAPE directed to the attention of the UN Secretary Ban Ki-Moon.

Tonight I checked in briefly because I wanted to see how many people CARED to sign this petition - see for yourselves - not many even bothered!

Since my husband's heart attack and subsequent hospitalization just a few weeks ago I have not been able to contribute to Care2 or online period.
I wasn't even sure that my husband would survive following a surgical proceedure. A share on my page was offered to explain my absence.

My point is that tonight I am very disappointed, very disheartened that so few Care2 members have bothered to note, but most importantly, sign this critical petition.

So please, if you really care my fellow Care2 friends & members, just take a moment to sign and share this petition. Simply click the link I took the time to post in my first response - it is easy to access.

May women in India, and around the world, our sisters SUFFER NO MORE RAPE VIOLATIONS .
This is my prayer following my ongoing prayers for my husband Marvin to fully recover back into wellness for a healthy life.
