Al Qaeda and the Taliban, together again. Not a pretty prospect. I came across this in my mail today.

"Philosopher Søren Kierkegaard teaches, "Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."

So it seems critical, to me, that one learn FROM experience what may not work well in the future. Sort of the old idea of failing to understand history condemns one to repeat it. These two groups together made a holy mess out of Afghanistan in the 1990's, why expect anything different in Syria? I would think that would alarm the entire region including those "certain sectors" who are financing this civil war. Then again, this is what they have been doing there for centuries and learning from history is not obviously one of their strengths.

While we remain in deadlock, split, divided and blaming, farther and farther apart, literally eroding from the inside out ... the radicals have joined forces, spreading throughout their world while infiltrating ours.

Not a reason for motivation ... or is it?

I stand corrected; I should have seen that this is about King Abdullah of Jordan, and not King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia...sorry!

When the majority of us hear these lectures about acceptance and peaceful existence by those like Queen Noor........we wonder why are WE being lectured. True we have the American-version of the taliban here in the USA but they will remain powerless as long as women have the vote.
