I never had him as a direct political figure in my life, but he certainly was a well known figure. He led a long full life. RIP

I heard this earlier..and all I could think of was how he always asked.."How'm I doing?" It was refreshing..He certainly was one who took no nonsense from anyone..

Sad news..but he did live a long happy and purposeful good life..
Rest it peace Mr Koch,, *candle*

Thanks Cal..

No nonsense, said it as it was, like it or not let's talk. A legacy that will stand the test of time in history, one that should be researched and implemented by the weak sisters of today we call our "leaders".

RIP, safe journey home.

It really was such a shame that Koch was politically stabbed in the back by his own people during his third term. This was not Nixon and Watergate, Koch was disgusted as much as the party. He hid nothing. Sadly, by association,he still lost the 4th election.
Four years of Dinkins unraveled to a degree what Koch was trying to and did for NYC. Thank goodness for Guiliani's election.

Good article about him. He did a lot for his city by pulling them out of their financial difficutties. May he be at peace. Thanks Cal

I think this is the first time my mom was hit with the reality that so many people are dying in their 80's. She is 83... Ed Koch was respected by many.
