Thanks Cal. Noted. It is great to hear that so many people are getting their voices heard and being so high profile.. I am sure we all hope that it is not too little too late!!! Why is it that governments never do ANYTHING untill they are scared NO with a bit of luck the climate change might not affect THEM until they leave the planet, so bother the younger generation, let THEN worry about it!

The Albertan tar sands are a great symbol for the climate movement: There is such incredible press about their emissions that one would expect there to be significant damage to the surrounding environment.

Check Google Maps' satellite-images of the area. The immedaitely surrounding vegetation is not visibly different from the vegetation much further out.
