Deforestation could increase the risk of biodiversity loss in the Amazon by forcing species to migrate further in order to remain at equilibrium with changing climates, says new research.

YES. It's only a matter of when for some species and for some other species, doomsday has already come. Very sad indeed but Mankind is intent on destroying all this is good and essential for all to flourish in this world.

Yes, they will lose, we all will. Because the world has no sense of what is coming due to the obfuscation and junk science the 1% continues to spew into the atmosphere along with their toxins because in their world, dollars always come before people or anything else, including the survival of our species as well as every other oxygen breathing species on the planet. No one is serious about this, everyone is still talking and the time for action, if it has not already passed, is on us now. Talking won't save anything, we all lose, including the 1%, they're just counting on being gone before the real damage comes - which only goes to prove they care as little for their descendants as they do for the rest of the world.

Honestly, I'm very pessimist on how we'll manege this issue. I wrote another post a few minutes ago saying how upset I am when I see so many politicians saying that there's no climate change, that this is a hoax created by liberals and so on... It's sad and revolting that we keep electing those ignorant. We are in their hands. And if people don't wake up, soon it's going to too late to save ourselves...

I don't feel so bad about humanity fading away....I just wish we weren't taking hundreds of thousands of innocent species with us!

We have to change our fossil-fuel-burning ways.

I think we are ALL going to lose if we continue polluting and destroying the Earth, our home.

I DO wish today best of the best and brightest scientist would give their piercing focus on how to react the CO2 in massive quantities instead of developing "better" weapons. Secondly, we all can support the Nature Conservancy simply by clicking on Brother Earth daily.

Brother Earth is a Japanese charity(a real one) that allows you to click daily by selecting an endangered land: Madagascar, rain forest, and several others.

http://www.brotherearth.com/en/top.html.

Please add it to your favorites list as I have. They don't remind you to click(email), so you have to make it a habit you do.

I like the Nature Conservancy, so I click on the Race to Save the Rain forest daily.

I would like to think we will win, but the more I see of the behaviour of governments and companies, the more convinced I become we are going to lose.

Thank you Cal for posting this. Noted with extreme sorrow. Mankind is so careless and greedy that he can't see past his NOSE and everything that is beautiful and special on this Earth has been tossed into the TRASH. I feel so much pain for the younger generation and all of the species.
