as much as i applaud any such legislation, given the current (sorry) state of society, methinks that the problem is not fixable by (whatever amount of) legislation, but would require much, much more radical changes, to society and our (i.e. 'civilized' humans') 'way of life' .

OMG with enough pressure and every petition known to man the GOP can finally pass something for a group that is not white males. That's good because if the GOP doesn't realize soon that this planet is diverse by nature and if they don't start embracing that diversity they will negate their ability to ever join the human race.

Noted. Well, it's about time....the whole GOP lot was just cranky about the whole thing. Many GOP members still refused to approve it....scumbags!

I also suggest that abused women join the Co-dependent Annonymous group.....or get counseling.

We need to learn to stand up for ourselves and not allow abuse. Easier said then done.

Abised women tend to go from one abuser to another. The nice guys just aren't a turn on. An abuser
and a "victim" lady can spot one another across a room full of average or nice guys. Like a magnet
and it's tack.

The book "CoDependent No More" which I got in the library years ago really helped me. The group also was most beneficial.

I'm still attraced to abusers, male and female, but now I can look one of them straight in the face and say, "CO DEPENDENT NO MORE,' Bye."
