Signed and posted to F/B - not that any of my friends will sign - since I think most of them have given up on me as a hopeless "activist' -- but maybe one or two?

This is a tricky issue. No matter who is reporting an event there will always be either a liberal or a conservative slant. No two people can view the same event and come to the same conclusions. In order to find the truth, the viewing public needs to view as many sides as possible. Censorship is much more dangerous than any slant of any kind.

Not signed. Today's news said many people are still unemployed but the market and corporate profits are up and corporations don't want to spend money hiring people. That's the truth. Perhaps you are talking about faux news. That's a rabid dog that animal care and control can't seem to catch.

Start with "crazy like a fox" news, where the second, third and fourth rate on air "talent" misinforms millions daily. A fox is clever; in this case it knows how to milk loyal watchers for advertising dollars while reinforcing the least admirable thoughts and feelings of their delighted audience. Canada will not allow Fox because they don't license news organizations that substantially mislead. We have freedom of the press, but I am not so sure that includes freedom of the press to tell out and out lies.

No John I am quoting NBC about unemployemnt, the market rise, and corporate behavior. If you don't believe me look at their website to see what they said. It was today 3/4/13 at about 8 AM Chicago time.

Far too many news shows are like watching Jerry Springer now - I do not feel that being required to report NEWS as news violates freedom of speech - much of what is said comes far too close to slander or libel and just look what happened with those weapons of mass destruction....if someone had actually researched and reported the truth, we might have avoided that entire mess.
