The United States is one of the world's biggest users of water--many Americans use as much water as approximately 900 Kenyans.

50% of all water used in the US is by animal agriculture. to really save water go vegan. a vegan can let a shower run 24/7 and not waste as much water as a meat eater.

If it's yellow let it mellow if it's brwon flush it down -- that's my motto -- I don't always like to clean the toilet due to my "motto" but I do feel better taking my share in saving water!

I need multiple warms baths each day as part of pain management, we keep a bucket by the tub and use the bathwater to flush the toilet, water the plants etc. We also catch the water that would be wasted letting the shower warm up and use it to wash the pots and pans.
I agree that big business uses/wastes ridiculous amounts of water and that individual usage is miniscule compared to them, but still happily do my part to conserve. I hate waste and find I cannot be friends with wasteful people. My grandchildren will be paying the global price for their selfish ways.

Interesting. There are many ways to use less water and even in a nation such as Canada that has a lion's share of the world's fresh water supply it is best to be active in conserving our precious water resources.

No, I have no intention of becoming vegan as one mentioned earlier since the small amounts of meat that I eat are raised on small organic farms and not mega factory-farms which are cruel not to mention inefficient, The organic farms are using non-GMO foods, animals pasture fed not fed with grains or corn which is not species specific to herbivores. People can adjust their meat consumption accordingly as the proper serving is the size of a deck of cards and one can have several meatless meals, however it is something that I will continue to eat. Everything in moderation.

I would hope that people everywhere are working better at saving water..Not being so wasteful of it..And not just for "world water day" but for everyday..
I can't even begin to express the water that I see many waste everyday with no thought at all in it..

I have been aware of it since the early 60's..And when raising my children..I taught them the importance of it..

A great reminder..Thanks Cal..
