Environmental organizations are objecting to a misleading announcement coming from the oil and gas industry that says they have "made peace" with environmentalists by agreeing to voluntary fracking standards.

I may have signed it once before, it looks all to familiar, but I hadn't seen the accompanying article, and would agree a nation wide moratorium from perpetuating this is late in coming and I would also add - a world wide moratorium should also be implemented!
Thanks Cal -- also posted to f/b

Horrendous. When they don't get the response they want, those dirty energy people just lie.

Thanks Cal for the link to the article. "Voluntary fracking standards" what a joke. Go to the site mentioned (ustainableshale.org) and the standards are laughable. Read and note with disdain.

I've never known of a one-sided peace working yet.

Thank you Cal! I'm not surprised because this is no different than the idea of "clean coal" which is blatantly false.

Anyone with half a brain knows "voluntary" standards are worthless, since there's no way to confirm that the standards are actually being met.

sustainableshale.org is just another corporate shill website. They choose names that will confuse people - shaleshock.org is a well known anti-fracking site.

NYS is teetering on the edge but still holding out against fracking -

Noted and signed. I think there's a relationship between what seems to be a new standard of "news" and what're unchecked facts and loosely considered commentary. Amazing what people choose to believe, simply because they 'heard it somewhere'.

I knew it would happen! The people see the president do this, and think they can do it.
