As climate change continues to crank up the heat on our planet, the ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica are melting at increasingly rapid rates. In the United States, for example, parts of Miami could be underwater by 2040.

I don't know, but climatechange is really going. Here in Poland the first time we have snow at the first day of Spring. Even the oldest can't remember when was the last something like that ....

Thanks, Cal....a real eye-opener. World leaders have been informed of the scientific facts. If they continue to turn a blind eye....and the media continues to treat these reports as "insignificant"...nothing will change and these events could occur even sooner.

Very sad, we are losing parts of our planet and I hope our governments get smart and do something before it is really too late...Is it already?

Unfortunately it might . . . the earth is a living being. Underneath the ground are tectonic plates ever so slowly moving around, and we have changing, shifting climates, all of which if we don't adapt to, we suffer the inevitably consequences...

Thanks Cal. Climate change needs to be our first priority, without action everything else is moot. First thing-Stop the Keystone Pipeline. All that tar sands needs to stay in the ground, if it's extracted and burned the amount of carbon released will ruin any chances we have for keeping temperature rise within a workable (???!!!) limit. Our decision about the pipeline is a real turning point in the climate change fight, let's do everything we can to make sure we make the right choice.
