First go to your doctor and ask for a sleep study. You might have sleep apnia. Forgetting, tired, foggy headedness are some of the symptoms. Also, not being able to concentrate.

I would recommend any elderly person not to watch the news.

Sleep? What's sleep? Never heard of it - at least not in the past decade - Thanks - maybe I'll give some of these a stab :)

Some of us just live with insomnia, and still manage to be fairly alert.

I love white noise; any will do; but I do think some of those suggestions are unrealistic.

The herb passiflora works for many people and is certainly worth trying for anyone who suffers from restless sleep / insomnia.

I am sleep deprived due to a husband that snores like a lion. I've tried so many things, so far nothing works.

All my life I fell asleep instantly and slept undisturbed until my youngest son passed 16 years ago, since then, 3-4 hours at most, then fitful as long as I can stand it, then I just get up. Tried everything, have used a fan as white noise since the year I spent in Viet Nam, that still is part of the regimen, but no pills, no psychology, nothing works. I should just say sleep is over rated but it isn't, one of my fondest memories though. Sigh...
