A proposed mine -- and a railway extension to carry it out -- would put their land at risk for an energy plan that mainly benefits Asia, ranchers say. But they're in the minority.

Sorry Mayor Rose Hanser but I feel there does not need to be another coal mine in Montana. I hope these ranchers will start a petition - I would sign it and have relatives in Montana that would be behind them.
Thank for the awareness of this Cal.

Noted. Thanks for posting, Cal. It's so nice to have a bit of good news. I'd gladly sign any petition against dirty coal.

There has been some pollution, she said, "but the trade-offs are incredible. and so is the money that will wind up in her pocket

The insidious greed of all of these carbon and water destroyers will never cease until these people continue to raise their voice before they are paid "hush money" to keep quiet! We cannot afford the devastation of fossil fuel companies to control our livelihood and our Earth - they are our enemies and must be seen as such, we must stand up to them - they are our enemies - the enemies of the Earth - they are in it for greed - but they are destroying our world - come on - take your weapons of pens and follow the advice of Thoreau and continue to use civil disobedience as a real and temperate means of changing the fascist dictates of this country!

Part of me hates Montana for their stance on wolf and bison slaughter- but the other part of me would help them fight off the coal mines!
