The European Union has overruled British opposition to impose a total two-year ban for gardeners on the use of pesticides linked to the death of bees, with new rules setting out tight restrictions for farmers.

Would have been better with a clear vote and not an EU directive, and I suspect this is a case of winning the battle, but not the war.

I am very happy they have taken this decision. It is of the atmost urgency to protect the bee population.
