Good news! The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that the Indigenous communities of Niyamgiri Hills have the right to decide whether or not they want a mine on their sacred land.

Thanks, took a few years for this ruling, but it's good news (I have never liked open pit mining).

It is truly fantastic news that for once an indigenous people and their right to determine the fate of their own lands have been recognized by the law. I hope this opens the door for many more victories for the indigenous peoples of the world!

Wouldn't it be amazing if our Congress passed this and all celebrated like that, unfortunately It is hard to imagine.

To be fair, to deny the Indigenous People this right would mean that they should allow mining inside Westminster Abbey.

Cool, unlike ours it seems their Supreme Court doesn't have 5/9 of it bought and paid for.

Great news, sometimes the law does act. After all the British raped India long enough.
