With several states deregulating marijuana in the past year, a California veterinarian is sparking debate over whether America's sick pets could benefit from some bud.

I for one would happily welcome pot for our beloved animals that are in pain! I hope it can soon be allowed. Thx Cal.

I think if pot helps animals, it should be allowed as medicine.

Noted. I agree that if it helps and works, it should be used.

Yeah, I can see more animals being tortured in the labs during the studies. I don't like this at all.

Makes sense. Its medicinal uses for humans are well-documented, and after all, many animals really aren't that different from us anatomically. I'd need to see more hard data before I'd fully trust it, but this has potential.

Pot is just a weed that should be legal. Letting a beloved, sick pet live longer in comfort is perfectly reasonable.

Pam W, do you really want to test on Animals?

If using whatever substance is available that will not harm the pet, and that is recommended by a veterinarian, will ease some pain and suffering, I say go for it! I don't want any of my pets to feel anything hurtful as long as I can provide relief for them.
