Joe Biden Has History On His Side But Little Else If Hillary Clinton Runs

It's pretty much a truism in American political history: If the president is not running again and the vice president wants his party's nomination, it's his for the asking.

I suppose - but I sure don't want another Clinton - sorry they're corporate run candidates! -- Biden is a gutsier candidate!- - willing to stand up to the NRA and several lobbyists!

I was all ready to vote for Dennis Kucinich over both Obama & Clinton in the primaries, but he bowed out shortly before our state primary. I saw Hillary as a "corporate" candidate, too. I do prefer Biden over her. But, I like Elizabeth Warren more than all of them put together.

I would like Hillary if her husband wasn't ripping off the poor and destitute.

Hillary would be the best corporatist in the race, but no corporatist should hold public office. Witness Bill's NAFTA, CAFTA and his failure to veto the repeal of Glass Stegall and the passage of Gramm Leach Bliley. Those vetoes would have spared us the economic mess we're in now and she was with him on all of them.

The thing about Joe Biden is that he's an incredibly smart person who never lost the common touch. But he doesn't carefully weigh the political consequences of every word before speaking. Now, from what I've gathered, that's a quality supposedly admired by most everyone in the abstract, but in real life it's seen as a fault.

To be sure, I think the best possible choice, and one that's not going to happen, would be Howard Dean, and of the possibilities, I would say Elizabeth Warren is 1000 times better than Hillary. But I do admire Hillary's "balls."

Hillary is much respected here in the UK. She has that all-important statesman-like quality about her. I think she would make a great President.
