These people have no reason to change. When they do have a reason they will but I think it's going to take a disaster to do it.

Sounds like every other country too. But spending 300 billion RMB ($48 billion) of public money, and their normal folks have to eat everything they can find in order to survive is shameful.

THIS IS LESS ABOUT EXPENSES AND MORE ABOUT CORRUPTION WHICH IN TURN IS BORNE OUT OF DESIRE FOR SELF ADVANCEMENT. THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS. THIS IS TO BE FOUND IN EVERY COUNTRY TO VARYING DEGREES. WE HUMANS LOVE TO POINT THE FINGER IT MAKES US FEEL BETTER!!! HAVE A LOOK AT YOUR HAND THOUGH. HOW MANY FINGERS ARE POINTING BACK AT YOU?? AND DOES THAT MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD WORK ON YOUR SHORTCOMMINGS FOUR TIMES AS HARD?????? JUST A THOUGHT, IT WOULD MAKE FOR A MORE HONEST AND BETTER WORLD.

This is not corruption in the eyes of Chinese officials, it is a privilege. It is the same in Western countries, politicians and the rich fleece the tax payer, they call it entitlement. To me, it is all corruption, no matter what you call it. The top 5% take all and the rest pays for it.

Corruption is synonymous to greediness.man is never satisfied with whatever they can have.for as long as the under privileged is there to be their prey, corruption stays.it's really sad that when man aspire for an office in the government, they are not there to serve but to have power that they can use against the poor and the weak.

Hmmm, let me see. I think I could come up with a few governments in the west along with some charities that host lavish feasts. They may not be on this level but it's still amounts to pork barrel politics and collusion.
