Thanks for sharing good news! This is what conservation is at it best. The ruling was done uin accordance with the world consensus, I have no doubt about that. The message of protecting the forests has been delivered and they are now in good hands. Hip Hip Hurray!

Thank you for the good news,Cal. It is time the Indigenous People of this world finally get the recognition they deserve. Way to go Indonesia, we can hope this sets an example to the rest of the world.Problem is, in a world run by greed, big money usually wins out over the needs, rights and lives of the Indigenous People.

Great news- but shouldn't we look closer at Indonesia's colonizing ways? It seems that the Indonesians are getting a free pass to invade and strip the resources of neighboring countries (West Papua comes to mind) and oppress the native peoples merely because they are brown and Islamic. If white Christian governments started brutaly colonizing neighboring countries the entire world would be up in arms and screaming blue murder.

OUTSTANDING. Gives a spark of hope to hang on to (remember it only takes a spark to ignite a wildfire). IHaving said that, however, if the indigenous and local communities involved are not fair in distribution and/or sharing of assets, they will regress into just another form of government gone bad.

This truly is amazing as Indonesia's government is not known for helping anyone or listening to anyone outside their own circles. This is certainly a step in the right direction.

It is about time to protect the people who wish to live the way their generations did before them. They will protect their forest better than anybodyy else can.
