Our country either exists because of well educated citizens that will be a strength for the work force, or we exist only as a blob to be ignored by the corporations. Universities are now extremely expensive and there is no alternative but for students to finance their education, this is one more place for the government to work for the people by underwriting these loans and tightly controlling the rates of interest for these loans. We the people have very few in Congress actually working for us, Elizabeth Warren is one of those few.

Noted. I could be mistaken, but I thought I read yesterday that the bill to raise the rates passed the House and was headed for the Senate.....

It's too bad Elizabeth Warren works with a bunch of Gop'ers who couldn't care less about the youth of today, tomorrow or next year.

This time she is showing her liberal skirts. Why doesn't she propose a program like we had. I believe it was called National Defense Student loan when I had it. It provided the education loans and demanded payback in the form of government service or "x" years of teaching. Life and liberty is not free.

John G, affordable education isn't a "liberal" thing. Only in America are conservatives so stupid they don't realize how good it is for the country. Conservatives in the rest of the world may have their dumb ideas, let's face it, conservatism is a dumb idea in and of itself, but they are aware that an educated country is what makes a country worth living in.
