The reporters some distance from Taksim Square still had to use gas masks. Erdogan has managed to take a simple protest about a park and turn that into what seems to be serious repression of rights. If his goal was to seen by the International community as despot, he has succeed .

It was only a matter of time before Erdogan's Islamist government used water cannon and riot police against peaceful demonstrators in Taksim Square.
Having emasculated the Turkish military this tyrant probably thinks he can get away with any breach of human rights. That's what these people do.
