Kittens, dogs, people, it seems like everything that is alive is up to be snuffed out without any care or concern. That children had to see it is sad.

Why is he still employed?? His disgusting actions will no doubt have an impact on these little children and will be with them through life...and that's def not a memory anyone would want embedded in their mind. Personally I would've smacked him with all my might. This SOB is unfit 4 duty+needs to be fired ASAP. RIP sweeties. Thx Cal

This officer's actions are cruel and shameful, not to mention extremely dangerous--unauthorized discharge of his weapon in a residential area, 10-15 feet from the back door of a house in which children were present? And his superior says he did nothing wrong? What the hell is wrong with people?

North Ridgeville Police Department Chief Mike Freeman released a statement defending Accorti, who the Ohio SPCA has demanded be fired and charged with animal abuse.

Both the chief and officer, Chief Mike Freeman and Officer Barry Accorti, should be suspended from their jobs for two months without pay for their callous behaviors. Both should also receive and take sensitivity towards animals classes and counseling.

The children, who witnessed this barbaric act, should also receive counseling paid by the county sherif, police department in which they reside.

Two petitions in John's box above signed.

Ty, Cal.

Disgusting. Abusive to those children, how will they ever get over that? And no discipline? Did nothing wrong? He did nothing RIGHT. Neither of those fools is fit to wear any kind of badge. Or be in any position of authority as neither has the slightest bit of good judgment. Ick...

This Officer and his Chief are sickor stupid or both. Those beautiful kittens should have been sheltered and placed in loving homes. Traumatised children recieved messages; fear police; animals should be killed, to list 2. Ohio needs better laws if they see nothing wrong with what happened to these animals.

Evelyn B (79)

Noted Tks. Cal... Disgusting and Appalling, Fire or Shoot the Bastard. He's
not capable of protecting anything..Kids should be afraid of the cops, they

I signed the petition at thepetitionsite along with this comment......
Officer Accorti should be fired and held accountable for murdering these precious 5 kittens and his Commanding Officer for telling him he did the ''right thing'' by shooting them in front of children.

The only thing I don't like about not posting a petition is, your name does not appear, at least mine didn't, even though I got the green check mark telling me I signed.....thnx John for both petitions.

Let's take Accorti & the Police chief (another animal like Accorti) out behind the woodpile, hide them and then "rescue" them. Hanging by fingernails till they fall out, then the toenails, then tar & feather them and ride them out of town on a rail. This should be a main event in this town.

Lynn S (235)
Thursday June 13, 2013, 10:57 pm
This isn't a Humane Officer. Accorti is the Inhumane Officer. Attila the Hun was less barbaric than Accorti!
Truly disturbing that he would do that in the first place, but infront of young children?

My 3 cats and I will say kitty prayers for these innocents tonight. This just brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks John B for the petition links. Both signed.

"No disciplinary measures?!" When this popped up in my alternet mailing a couple days ago, my granddaughters were here, and I had to quickly scroll away before they could see it. They would have been inconsolable; so I feel for those poor children who had to watch this happen. I was shocked to read the title myself, and quite angry after finally reading the article after they left later. What kind of animal could do something this horrendous?

Michael Guest (0)
Thursday July 11, 2013, 3:59 pm
No. They are wrong. That person should be ashamed. Makes me very upset. Pas new laws to protect animals and pets from lethal actions. They should know better.

What's up with these cops that seem to get off on killing dogs and kittens? What's even worse is that it happened in front of those kids. His superior is just as bad! No wonder the justice system has gone to the dogs...
