According to new research, for nations that have outlying coral reefs, better land use of the mainland is crucial in order to prevent further damage to these ocean habitats.

It makes perfect sense to me. I have more trees than anything on me care2 page. I know animals and people need help but without trees to keep the world stable no one is getting anything.

The runoff of excess fertilizer; insecticides and waste products from factory farms alone is probably one of the biggest factors in the increase of ocean acidity. Then there is the contamination from Big Oil and Fracking and fossil fuel usage from cooking to transportation.

Thanks for the article, Cal. Sadly, we can't seem to stop the Big Businesses from cutting down trees, over-fishing our oceans, and all the other things people do out of greed. However, we will keep trying; otherwise we have no hope for a clean future (or any future if it doesn't stop soon).
