As stated in the petition, "I urge Governor Fallin to protect Longhorn Mountain as the sacred land it is. Another form of cultural destruction against Native Americans is unacceptable."

Signed and noted. Thanks, Cal!

We can't undo some terrible wrongs that have been done to the Native Americans of this country but we can surely stop adding to the wrongs.

Governator fallin should read the book "trail of tears" and the genocide that occurred from the trip of the native Americans who started 100,000 strong in the southeast and by the time they got to I.T. (Indian territory) prior to Oklahoma had been reduced to less than 10,000 native Americas. Every time the native Americans were "settled" somewhere, within a few years they were shunted to even worse locations as the N A's seemed to be cursed with being put in areas where all sorts of valuable minerals, oil etc.... Were found. So yet AGAIN their holy/spiritual land is being coveted by money hungry companies. What if Jerusalem were situated atop a mineral that could cure cancer, aid and other malady in the world, would the judeo Christians allow Jerusalem to be dismantled to get at these powerfulifr change minerals? By the way is Fallin related to Fallin/Palin? It would seem so.

Ooops a few typos - meant powerful and aids not aid. Darn sorry about that. Guess I am human "gasp" I can live with being an imperfect human. ;)

A rock crushing company wants to tear it down and use it for a highway. When a mountain is a sacred site to the Native Americans it is truly sacred. I suggest that Governor Fallin stop this atrocity immediately. We've taken enough from our Native people. Signed.

I'm sure that if this land were sacred to a Christian sect, there would be no issue, no question of a chance of a suggestion of even thinking about bringing up this land-destroying project for discussion. Alas, since it's just land that matters to Native Americans--not "real" Americans--I'm sure this project will be carried through to completion, with disastrous consequences, for the land, the people who live there, and the people who care about it. (And before you ask, no, I have no Native American blood, myself. I just care about the land and the people who have lived there for generations.)

First it was gold - the Native Americans were forced off their lands. Then it has been uranium, oil, among other things. Now it's rock. This time the Natvie Americans don't want to lose their mountain. Go figure...

To bad Gov Fallin can't fall in some hole - and be buried by crushed rock.
