The case of a pregnant 11-year old girl who was raped in Chile by her mother's partner has set off a national debate about abortion in one of the most socially-conservative countries in Latin America.

The horrors this child has faced in her very short life thus far. How horrendous that she should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term. Pro-choice!

Aren't they just the most compassionate Christians anywhere?

Let's hope common sense prevails and that the life of the 11 year old child is saved, rather than the life of the unborn and unwanted pregnancy.

"Doctors say the girl's life and that of the fetus are at high risk." So being forced to carry the pregnancy to term is her punishment for being raped by a pedophile! What sentence could he expect, assuming he is even found guilty?

This is the result of religion trumping human rights. There should not be any discussion, the doctors should have been able, legally, to deal with this quietly and the child spared all of this intrusive publicity. We are looking the life and possible death of a child, what is the matter with people? Have they no human compassion?

An 11 year old is 14 month pregnant? This mother should be put to jail including her lover.
Not only has this poor girl been traumatized for over 2 years (She was 9 years old), now she is supposed to give birth to a child which will traumatize her even more.
Where is the petition to sign?

Where was the mother? OK the bastard did it behind her back - I hope!!- but she didn't see any difference in the way the child acted or the way the bastard acted?? Buffalo chips. I am so sick of the parents always playing ignorant!! and 99% of them know and just close their eyes to it. Now another life is ruined by abusive shits.

I'm sure the fanatics here would encourage her to have the baby. They're against abortion and food stamps so I'm assuming starvation is okay w/them. Guess they're okay with America becoming a 3rd world country.

Just horrendous. When will people grow up and grow some brains? When religion is the supreme law of the land, common sense always takes a back seat.

Sad that it always takes such a horrible example to get people thinking.

Sick bastards! They should not be outside with normal people in the first place. And the Church, in this sense... Shame!!!!
