Seattle's University of Washington has stocks in Exxon, Chevron and Conoco Phillips, among others. The school should make the right decision for the climate and divest the university endowment from fossil fuels to help combat climate change.

Liberals investing in oil is hilarious. If it ain't your money, it ain't up to you as to what the investments are. If they make money, there is a chance tuition costs will stop going up for a while. If global warming were true, do you think that divesting from oil will make any difference? You are hallucinating, so lay off the pot. Oh, and the kool aid you are consuming is laced with LSD. Besides, have you been tracking what the sun has been doing in recent years? If the activity continues, the planet could suffer a deep freeze. Then, you will be praying like hell for global warming. And one way to stop CO2 is to stop breathing. Everyone exhausts CO2 whenever they exhale. If you truly believe humans are causing the latest increase in CO2, drop dead. Problem solved.

Thanks Cal. Universities are so shackled by all their affiliations now it makes their research findings suspicious. Put ethics and trust back into our educational systems.

As an Alumna of the University of Washington in Seattle, I hope to make my voice heard extra loud!

Divestment is a good strategy. It worked to help bring down Apartheid in South Africa.

'Divestment is the right thing to do for the environment. Just in the past year, New York City subway was flooded and we have seen record temperatures across the country. Climate change will negatively impact Seattle. Sarra Tekola said, “It will submerge Harbor Island and the shores of West Seattle and South Park, and we are already seeing the impacts.”'

A lot of downtown Seattle is actually built on, or close to, MUD FLATS and when that gets saturated, the base for the skyscrapers won't hold and earthquakes furthermore will turn that soil into MUSH...
they weren't thinking of that, of course, in the 19th and early 20th centuries...
