The genetic material of these remaining javan rhinos needs to be collected if there is to be any chance of recreating the species and returning it to the wild in the future.

The rhinos should be gathered into an area where genetic diversity is assured and their safety is guaranteed. They're too valuable to be left to the greed of poachers. Sorry...but it's true.

Only 50 - I can't say I am surprised - as sad as it is, this is what we humans do best -abuse and kill animals that cannot defend themselves against us. For very few of us have any compassion, conscience or hearts!
