With corporations cutting worker pensions, Americans rely on Social Security more than ever. Congress should expand Social Security -- not cut it

Signed and noted. It appears the republican party and the 1%'s plan for seniors is to work them until the day the die, not unlike their forebears in the 1940's who operated the death camps of that day and fully intended to work everyone until they died or were killed. I think this is what is planned for seniors by the 1% and the gop now.

Republicans love the flat tax, so how about making FICA a flat tax paid on 100% of income? If that were done it would make SS solvent until the Earth fall into the sun.

Social Security is the most successful anti-poverty program in the history of the United States and has not contributed one nickel to the deficit. Yet opponents continue to call for unnecessary cuts through a chained consumer price index or Chained CPI. This would mean if you’re 65 years old today, you would lose more than $650 a year when you reach 75 and more than $1,000 a year when you reach 85.
That might not sound like a lot to a member of Congress or a corporate CEO, but if you’re living on $12,000 a year, taking a $1,000 cut is significant.
Put the PRESSURE on....is the only way. Those dirty-dogs have a FINE socialist--pension but they would readily let old people, the disabled and children suffer.

Signed, noted and commented. Thank you.

Try living on under $10,000 and taking that cut. Won't have the internet anymore...maybe not a landline phone - no cell here. No TV so can't cut that. Rent is too much so will have to move into cheaper, smaller apt. Don't even get me thinking about food costs. This is the reality of many seniors out there.

Thank You, Cal. This does effect me. There is so many other ways to save, take away from the poor is down right nasty!! If they think they can live on what I do a month, I DARE THEM!!
