Our government is intentionally keeping massive amounts of information secret from voters.

Noted. Good, but disturbing article about the surveillance state. The only thing more disturbing is the number of people who are against the American people knowing anything about what their government is doing, even to the point of thinking that all whistleblowers should be detained for life or even executed. Clearly, they do not understand the threat to a free society that a secretive police state represents. We have to educate and organize and take a stand against the #surveillancestate and the #waronwhistleblowers.

Noted. Thanks, Cal. This article just got me seething. Great! We pay taxes to the gov't to spy on us, then they collect all our data, but won't tell us anything that we paid for. Isn't this what the Tea Party was suppose to be all about....taxation without representation? Then, we aren't suppose to lie to the gov't or law enforcement....but all they do is lie to us...and Clapper, who lied to Congress, is still retaining his gov't position--being paid with our tax dollars! The cow has jumped over the moon.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), was born after the Watergate scandal.
It is no secret the right-wing hates our Govt. They will do anything to discredit the govt because they want to privatize everything. As it is....we should NEVER to outsourcing our security to the profiteers like Halliburton or Booz Allen Hamilton that Snowden was working for. WE THE PEOPLE ought to be in charge of our own security in this country and YES we do need secrets because we are living in a different era with new kinds of enemies that are often living amongst us.

We need more truthsayers taking a stand for American's rights. The problem with our system, we have a corporate two-party system with two right-wings committed to varying degrees of the corporate agenda, and progressives have been all but shut out. It's time we take the power back with a #thirdparty .

Can't curently give Brian another star...Noted with even more the bozos running the asylum known as America. Agree with Brian...tho doubtful many people will change their preconceived notions, fed more lies as the actual truth comes out. Manning and Snowden are heroes for letting the proverbial cats out of some bags. I said some bags because we know there are many more, just hidden away deeper. Thanks.

The Key words in this article are: "The public would never have known about the massive surveillance without the leaked documents from Snowden." This should tell even the most brain dead conservative just how important, brave and heroic it was for Mr. Snowden to adhere to his patriotic duty to blow the whistle on the NSA.
