Planting trees in coastal deserts could capture carbon dioxide, reduce harsh desert temperatures, boost rainfall, revitalise soils and produce cheap biofuels, say scientists.

Halting deforestations helps a lot more just so people know I really does,. Deforestation causes massive climate changes among 100's of other things that are connected with that. especially in places where they are using wood to cook seven days a week 365 days a year... that's a lot of burned up dead trees and habitat.

Hope people are listening so these trees can be planted ASAP. We need to get as many trees in the ground as we won't make up for all the island deforestations, or the Amazon. Of course there's the American old growth forests loggers want...Thank you.

This is what Israel has been doing over 50 years!

Israel has planted desert hills and valleys. It has made green the dry, rocky and barren.

Israel kept developing better and better agricultural methods to allow the trees to grow and use a minimal amount of water.

Israel was the ONLY country in the world that entered the 21st Century with MORE trees than it had in the 20th Century, due to the high priority on turning the desert green.

All other countries BESIDES Israel, entered the 21st Century with less trees.

Palestinians have been setting fire to Israel's forests and there have been some terrible fires that have killed people and animals, as part of the Palestinian Forest Fire Jihad.

Let's get back to sanity, plant trees, and enjoy them and all the things they give to the earth.

Thank you for the thrilling news! It works and has been done by a couple in.... I think it was West Texas. In any event, I saw it on a documentary, and it was amazing! I wish I could recall with more accuracy.
