Everyone seems to settle with the gas companies before it gets to court...just how much can the gas companies pay out and still find fracking worthwhile? More lawsuits, please!

I'm curious - the article states that "once they found out about the connection, they took the necessary action to stop them from occurring in the future," It does not say what those steps were, but shouldn't they have been steps to get out of there - completely!?!

Maybe a court order and huge fines will stop the fracking; one can only hope. Thanks for the article, Cal.

Settling out of court is like an admission of guilt. The frackers pay, and then it's business as usual.

Sadly, it won't stop those bloody frackers. This won't stop them or the earthquakes. They have had numerous eathquakes even in Texas. Thank you for the news. (n, p, t)

ABOUT TIME!!! But this is NOT good enough! Companies who do this need to be fined and company owners NEED TO FACE JAIL TIME! This is a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY and we will NO LONGER tolerate INSANITY!! Laws NEED to be changed and FAST!!

They should be sued for a lot more such as premeditated destruction of the environment. I remember King Barky telling us how fracking would give the US freedom from foreign oil dependence. Nothing could be further from the truth. The only people who benefit are the energy firms. 74% of all liquid gas goes to Japan. American consumers don't get a price break. They do get the bill for the clean-up though. King Barky has lied to the American people.

Thanks very interesting only discussing this topic the other day. It is a real worry with the amount of damage to the earths crust. The balance of the planet is a fragile thing and everything thing that throws that balance out is so dangerous.
