Yeah---what took them so long? I'll put this in the "duh" column....what with the San Andreas Fault being right under their feet.....

There are enough natural disasters in California let alone doing a dangerous thing such as fracking.

Please invest the effort in solar and wind and wave energy that will help keep the air, water, and earth clean --- while helping to keeping the inhabitants whole, and healthy!

"The environmental risks of fracking, or fracturing underground rock formations to reach oil reserves, are too great and should be banned, two Los Angeles City Council members said Wednesday."

Of all the places in the country that should NOT be allowing fracking of any kind, those which sit on major fault lines should be at the head of the list. They are in danger not only of harming their water supply but so destabilizing the land that LA might fall into the Pacific without the "big" one ever hitting the San Andreas. Where fracking is, so to will eventually be sinkholes, massive sinkholes. We really have NO idea what we are doing with this technology nor any clue as to the very real dangers it poses. We're supposed to be smart species on this planet yet we have all the prescience of a rock sometimes where $$ signs blind us.

Commendations to these two gentlemen. We need more like them. It is indeed corporate terrorism and were it not we would indeed be calling out the troops.
