That has to be one of the weaker interpretation of an event that I have ever seen.

Fox News - I think that's a misnomer.

FAUX ''news.'' A right-wing political group masquerading as a ''news'' network.

Fox news an enigma wrapped in a heavy coating of BS ,one moment they complain about the liberal bias in news and the next they brag about their #1 ratings. Still even Ted Cruz who seems to be howling like a wolf that has it's nuts caught on a coat hanger, may be too much for them though I suspect it is just a momentary twinge of a social conscious that was so long held at bay, they will next be Ann Coulter doing comedy? Given she wanders on screen looking so haunted and drawn. Spewing all that negative hate speech must've hollowed out her spirit, poor thing; her eyes are now a portal to a world of infinite nihilistic oblivion - gaze into them too long and you can feel the air growing cold around you. So short of having Rush Limbaugh hanging from a lamp post it does look like Ted Cruz is going to implode, which is probably a good thing.

I have heard it called "Faux Noise." This does sound like good news though.

Faux Noise supplies dumbed down voters with exactly what they want to hear and if repeated often enough those voters will march like lemming off a cliff.

Cruz is on tv right now, doing his best to have Obamacare defunded. To heck with the rest of our country and our credit rating, stock market and paying our bills. Does Cruz realize we are paying bills we've already made? Does he then believe we should not pay our personal bills that are due because we don't like something the company that bills us is doing? This made is incompetent and should be removed from his position.

Fox news has never presented news. All they've ever done is attack people, although it's usually been liberals. This marks a change, a growing-up, perhaps--or maybe just a realization that Cruz has simply had it, is finished as a player in the political realm.

You make the incorrect assumption that the funding is in place for Obamacare and that somehow Fox News was able to prevent something that didn't exist in the first place. Fascinating.

It will be interesting to see what their ulterior motives are, if they are smart enough to have any. Thanks for the post, Cal.

I didn't think that Faux Noise turned on Cruz and destroyed his plan to defund Obamacare. Chris Wallace asked some questions, and then sought some clarity but Cruz seems to have kept up. However, were I Cruz, I'd know my numbers, my support levels. Or does he know them but is unwilling to disclose them because he does not have what he said he had, or does not want to provide advance information to the Dems.

Interesting too that there are 1.6 million signatures on a petition to defund Obamacare, I think Cruz said. But there are 330 million US citizens. A big disconnect in my mind.

I agree Sheryl, give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves.

My fervent wish for Americans is an affordable healthcare system that does not leave anyone out.

From the article:

"If you want know how terrified Republicans are of a government shutdown, look at what Fox News did to Ted Cruz. Republicans want nothing to do with shutting down the government, because they know that it will be a political disaster for them. Fox News was trying to cut off the support for a government shutdown within the Republican base by filleting Cruz, and his idea.

This standoff among Republicans has put Fox News in the surreal position of opposing defunding Obamacare as a part of funding the government. Karl Rove was actually taking apart the myth that the Republican position on healthcare is popular.

Republicans who lack the support of Fox News tend to wither and die. The cheering section on Fox is an important to ambitious Republican like Cruz as oxygen. Without Fox News backing him, Cruz is a dead man walking. Should he continue down the defund Obamacare path, you can expect Fox News to aim the full wrath of their propaganda machine at the Texas Senator. Fox News is ready to throw Ted Cruz under the bus and run him over, if that is what it takes to avoid a government shutdown.

Democrats can only sit back and laugh at the delicious absurdity of Fox News scrambling to turn Ted Cruz into a man without a party."
I'm not a fan of Fox News. I guess you could say I don't trust or respect it or even consider it to be a legitimate news source. But they do have a large audience, so, for the first time ever, I have to admit that in this particular instance I like what they're saying.

Noted. Thanks, Cal. I'm finding it all so interesting watching both parties at-odds within themselves. While this does split the GOP, the Dems were split on attacking Syria. In fact, this is suppose to be partly how democracy works....not 2 parties continually fighting against each other getting nothing done---or what they do get done only benefiting those at the very top, while hurting the rest of Americans. I would absolutely like to see this happen more often. But, instead of us in the 99% getting caught in the crossfire, we should be winning some of these battles.

Only thing that is going to matter to these fools,
is to vote them all out of office.
