California's Safer Consumer Products Initiative takes effect October 1 and will require manufacturers to seek safer alternatives to harmful ingredients such as toluene, used in nail polish, and formaldehyde, used in carpet glue.

This should be a federal initiative, not just a state one. Hopefully, other states will follow, but it's a slow process.

Well..".Deep issue", living here, I will never truly believe that something stays or goes into force...Truth be told, when other States Follow California's lead there goes the north 40...Oops it is 50 isn't is???? Obama did say there were more or was it less??? I give up!
