For the first time, actual Presidents and Prime Ministers of 12 powerful countries will meet behind closed doors to seal an extreme Internet censorship plan called the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).1

I live in a country where internet censorship has been in place for almost three years, (if I am not mistaken). I can tell you, it kind of sucks!

Thank you! The Rethuglicans would love to pass a bill to censor our media in addition to taking away our voting rights. We had better spread the news far and wide before they do just that! (s, n, p, t)

i could never sign such a thing. How many petitions have I signed against animal "crush" videos? How many petitions have I signed against Craigs list and ebay in their selling of obviously mill dogs?
Do you want to buy a croc, a tiger, a python? You can find it on the internet.
If you signed these petitions in the past, how can you sign this?
I',m sorry Cal, the internet needs controls as it has been proven time and again.

Noted and signed. Thanks, Cal. Even as I realize there are some things that should be censored, I find it difficult to believe the 12 countries involved would be censoring what is our best interests.

Thanks Cal. The TPP will basically allow corporations to act outside of the laws of any sovereign nation in which they do business, essentially allowing to create their own system of law governing their own interests. And we all know what their interests will be based on. It can't possibly be in the interests of the public good to allow them to do so. I don't agree with Allan Y.'s comment posted above. Yes., some terrible things do happen via the Internet, but an indiscriminate policy of censorship based on corporate interests is NOT the answer.
