The story and the photos were just so sad. What gives one human being the right to claim ownership of another human being?

According to Wikipedia:

"Slavery in International Law is governed by a number of treaties, conventions and declarations. Foremost among these is the Universal Declaration on Human Rights that states in Article 4: “no one should be held in slavery or servitude, slavery in all of its forms should be eliminated.”[1]"

Modern Slavery that Falls under International Law includes: debt bondage, forced prostitution and sexual slavery, child slavery, and forced labour.

Why do officials from around the world meet to establish guidelines and then fail to enforce them?

I was glad to read about Brazil:

"In contrast, said Bales, countries like Brazil led the world in anti-slavery efforts. "It has a national plan to eradicate slavery. It has a dirty list where it has every company that's ever had slavery pollute their products, they have special anti-slavery police squads."

Let's hope other countries follow suit.

This really annoys me The hypocrasy of governments Uk has been out in China this week signing all these big deals with China knowing they are human rights abusers but they turn a blind eye when it suits them when loads of money are involved Money and deals are more important than human beings I for one do not want the UK to be better off at the expense of humans that are living in slavery etc but then perhaps its just me because who else seems to care No one has cared about Tibet either all these years

Will this never stop? I wished there would be a way that we could stop all the evil which is going on here on Mother Earth.
