What happens to the stuff we throw away? About 53 percent of it goes into landfills, according to the U.S. EPA. About 12 percent is combusted for energy. About 35 percent is recycled.

Noted. Nothing is more essential than the three R's. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Let's all think about the three R's globally and locally. I work in my county's recycling center two days a week. You would be surprised how many almost new things I find and then I set these things in the "Reuse" area and most days these things have all been taken home by someone to REUSE.....this also reduces consumerism. When we quit being needy consumers, we will weaken the corporations and banks.

More and more places are beginning to recycle.

I was delighted to find a recycle container at Starbucks. I expressed my appreciation to the staff. And, of course, I asked "Do you have a computer." Then I shared about Care2 Petitions. I've got a great sales
pitch. lol
