Broken promises is just a nice way of saying Christie lied in his promises to re-build the Jersey shore. The small towns along the coast are still in ruins- little to nothing has been done in the way of building roads, bringing back electric etc.
My friend owns a "shell" of a house in Ortley Beach; she has not seen a dime.

And there could have been wages paid if the programs had been up and running: " yet to conduct even an initial inspection of 89 percent of the homes in the “Built it Back” program."

Politicians drag their feet on helping the victims of natural disasters, yet are swift to fatten their own already obscenely bloated salaries and give undeserved tax cuts to the wealthy and Big Business, all while slashing public assistance to the bone and forbidding women from having reproductive freedom.

Good old politicians and government running the world as usual. If it isn't 1 for you and 2/3 for me, they don't want to do anything. They MUST have personal gain in order to do anything for the rest of us unpriviledged souls.

Keep in mind that both NY and NJ put the first dollars towards rebuilding boardwalks and other tourist crap when they should have been helping the people in need.

This isn't fair. People shouldn't be made to suffer because of something they had no control over. You can be sure if this happened to anyone in the government, especially DC, they would be given every courtesy and their lives wouldn't barely be disturbed.
