Kit, you took action on December 27, 2013 -- Thanks Cal

I can remember when the Gulf of Mexico would have a school of sharks, signs were posted, stay out of the water. People did just that.

We'll gracious, why would anyone expect sharks to swim around in their own homes? How rude of them to come near shore when there are people there. Of course they must be killed. Honestly,I wonder every day if people can get anymore stupid or cruel. Leave the sharks be. IT is their home and the damn people can just stay out of the water until they leave.

Culling stupid people, who swim close 2 sharks, is the better idea. This is the sharks habitat, why should they be killed because of it.

I'm waiting for a petition for sharks to stop killing people. We place more importance on these mindless kiling machines than we do on humans Years ago I saw a shark victim who was swimming in what he thought was safe water .Half of both his legs were missing..The poor boy was screaming and later died of shock. I've never forgotten that sight.I've no love for bloody sharks but I do have for my fellow humans.

To add to the above ,my father was in the merchant navy during ww2 He told me how the survivors of a torpedoed merchant ship who couldn't get onto the lifeboats were torn to pieces by a school of sharks Of course there are some who may say those poor men had no right to be in the sharks domain.

The planet needs sharks, it doesn't need bloody people. If you don't want to be attacked by a shark, stay out of their home. Save the sharks or humanity is doomed. Watch "Sharkwater" and learn the value of the shark. S&N with pleasure.

There is a time for everything, a time to swim and a time not to swim. I suggest increasing the number of Surf Lifesavers, improving beach patrols and shark warning systems. Saving life, both human and shark, is a more effective response to the situation than killing the perceived "problem".
