This article still assumes that there is a need to limit the number of big cats... This is not true.

P.S. I think there is much more of a need to limit the number of the bad people who would kill these cats. There is no reason whatsoever to kill these cats!!! Hunt the hunters~~they're a nasty lot!!

Cat of many names: Leo montes, Cougar, Catamount, Painter(sub-species in Florida), Panther, Ghost Cat, Puma, Shadow Cat, Mountain lion. They really prefer to not have anything to do with people so stay out of their way and allow them area in which to live. Humans don't need to take up every square inch of land just for himself.

Signed. Killing large carnivores is a mistake that costs the environment terrible damage. Bears, bobcats, coyotes, fox, and wolves keep the elk, caribou, deer populations down so that trees grow. The trees shade the streams, rivers, and lakes so the water is clean and fish and frog populations increase. We have to teach that. Please the NRDC film called Wild Things.

This is a really big thing...I thought that there were not that many Mountain Lion left, so when they go out to hunt them so all their small children can be safe, how do we know that are not wiping out the last of them? why are small children or even adults allowed to walk or live in the vicinity of the Lionseven? you don't find people living amongst prides of African Lions, but you do with the American Mountain Lion...very strange.. to my mind it is the Lions that need protection from the people.

WHY THE MISTAKES OF THE PAST DO NOT TEACH ANYTHING????????

HAVING KILLED ALL WOLVES IN YELLOWSTONE HAD PROVEN TO BE A DRAMATIC MISTAKE!!!

BECAUSE ANY TIME WE INTERVENE IN THE NATURAL BALANCE OF PREYS/PREDATORS THAT IS EXISTING in NATURAL WORLD
WE MAKE A DRAMATIC MISTAKE:

NATURE DOES HAVE ITS PROPER BALANCE!!!!!

THIS IS WHY WOLVES HAVE TO BE
RE-INTRODUCED BY MAN in YELLOWSTONE,

WHILE BIG CATS (HAVING BEEN ALSO SLAUGHTERED BY MEN)
LUCKILY RE-ENTERED that HABITAT BY THEMSELVES!!!
