The GOP is trying to rebrand itself as "compassionate" toward the poor. So what are its big ideas?

Again I say, Vote all republicans and tea baggers out of office in every state at every opportunity.

"Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom!"
(Nelson Mandela)

If as is said these ideas are meant to show a more compassionate face to wards the poor they are making a bloody good show of doing the opposite. They really are the pits.

Dave Johnson? alternet? Might as well use the same excuse why progressive solutions have failed for the past 50 years. Perhaps because a middle ground approach dilutes the impact.

When I hear a Republican politician talk it is always a depressing situation as again and again they will either go off target, blame Obama or go into some bizarre fantasy about the halcyon days of the 1950s when Men were men and Women were women and anyone with a darker hue of skin had to sit in the back of the bus. I get the impression if the primates that we came from had known that someday politicians would come out of the gene pool, they'd have stayed up in the trees and written evolution off as a bad idea! Which sort of sums up these ideas too.

Compassion? Why that's a bleeding heart liberal thing. And Republicans only respect bleeding hearts if they have a bullet in them.

Yeah, but are people smart enough to realize what the GOP is doing? Or will they listen to the FOX/GOP propaganda machine instead?
