From gun control to immigration reform, there's familiar gridlock on the horizon.

The only way this is going to stop is to dump a whole lot of Republicans from elected offices! They have done nothing but block every piece of legislation that would help the public, shut down the government, and spent billions of tax payer money on do nothing procedures that go nowhere like repealing Obamacare 44 times in the house at a cost of $12 billion! Their bigotry is coming back to haunt them!

What is the point of having government that does nothing; does not function for the good of the nation or its people let alone a POTUS who has taken more vacations and received more perks than the last one? It's just going from bad to worse.

Noted. Yeah, I'm wondering how they can get any less done, too.....since last year in 2013, the smallest number of bills passed EVER by a Congress (even during wars).

Ben you took the words right out of my mouth.

It doesn't seem humanly possible, but where there's a will there's a way and they'll find some way to sit on their lazy butts all while collecting huge paychecks and Cadillac benefits paid for by "we the people". Thanks Cal.

Ben took the words right out of my mouth and then Dandelion did, too! LOL. Unless you count stupid things Republicans said, the whole year was full of nothing.

As shocked by this ...[winkwinknodnod],,,,as I am I do believe if I give it more thought I shall come to the conclusion that Ben nailed it with his thought/opinion....Thus, I will save time with that process and get on with giving my 'ditto' shout out to Ben ...now. :-) I would also like to give my shout out 'ditto' to Maggie S. and my thumbs up for the other comenters above.

Well thumbs up to all except for the part where Theodore Shayne said " let alone a POTUS who has taken more vacations and received more perks than the last one"...which I feel that perhaps Theodore confused our present Potus with that of our previous Pottus.... for which that statement still to this day hold true. I am just wondering why he threw that Foxbot part in to his comment in the first place... as a 'sound bite' Foxbot or ??

For 25 years I've been explaining the difference between efficiency and effectiveness and I have so much more to do. For sake of simplification, it does no good to be highly efficient at doing the wrong thing.

Thanks Ben - you got there first! And all that followed (exception of Theodore -sorry wrong on this one) Jae - you're too funny! Thanks for the laughs Cal! Could racism have anything to do with this? oh for shame - did I bring up the "r" word - and that would have republican implications - oh mea culpa - where is my mind - I guess it's in the gutter --- forgive me!

Republicans are doing to America what Hitler did to Germany. Instill fascism, destroy democracy and its economy. No surprise from the Ayn Rand clan.

Theodore Shayne,
I guess being Canadian, you don't understand how our government works. Congress writes our bills. They toss it back and forth, attaching amendments. Then they send it to POTUS to sign or veto.
Does that help?

This worst Congress in history needs
to refund the past years paychecks,
go home and hide their heads in
shame.

Very sad, lets vote 'em out everyone. Our country can't afford another year of mean spirited republicans. Thanks for sharing.

It's hard to believe they can do even less, but then again, it's hard to believe most of what comes out of the mouths of the GOP delegation. They just don't get it. Hopefully, there will be some clean up come November.

There is no possible way for the House to even equal their pathetic non-performance of 2013. In 2012 the Repug scheduled the House off 30% of their working days, in 2013 they scheduled the House off 50% of their working days and BIG F'ING surprise for 2014 they have scheduled the House off a full 60% of their working days. Which to me 3 illegal raises in three years, as in if you get paid the same salary and perks but schedule your self to actually work fewer and fewer days you are giving yourself a raise.

They are so far removed Lloyd from what the average worker must do daily to feed, shelter and clothe their own families or self. While they in DC get more days off with higher pay, the average worker is getting fewer days off with stagnated wages. Those are the ones who can find a job, many have dropped out of the labor market as they can't get in or back in. They've lived off what savings they had, taken retirement early, they are sitting under bridges or tents in the woods, or living in a spare room with a family member who also is making it by only a thread.

Major issues in this Country need fixing and I'm not sure what will be the straw that breaks the camels back. It will come if we don't get a Government soon to start working for the people rather than just for the Banksters and Corporate 1%. Then on top of it one finds out that the NFL is considered a Non Profit and tax exempt. Give me a break!
