I remember so many of the songs listed because I sang them as a kid. Thank you Pete Seeger for all you have given and a life well lived.

Pete Seeger is a national icon - we need more voices to represent the struggles of "everyman" in America - don't let the music stop, or the fight that defines our land!

Sad, he was just up for that Grammy too but lost. :(

His legacy lives on though and will for a long, long time.

Pete Seeger's Light will shine and his inspirational messages through his music will live on loud and strong. Yes he spoke for the 99% with a fire and passion rarely seen anymore. His physical presence will be missed but his legendary soulfulness rocks on!

I would suspect if I went on too long with accolades for this talented and compassionate man he'd most likely feel embarrassed, that is the humility in which he walked. I had to good fortune to meet him personally and to listen to him sing first hand when I lived in New England during the late sixties and again met him in the mid seventies at a Stop the Nukes Rally. Bless his heart, for it was large and full of empathy for the common man and woman who struggles against all the odds. I'm glad he lived a long life for it certainly was a full life with dignity. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to his family and close friends with great respect.

He will be missed for sure. I hope there are many tributes about him so that the generations that weren't aware of him can find out how wonderful a musician he was and an amazing humanitarian. Rest in Peace.
