""We have quite enough National Parks, we have quite enough locked up forests already. In fact, in an important respect, we have too much locked up forest."

"I don't buy the Green ideology, which has done so much damage to our country over the last couple of decades," Abbott said. "When I look out tonight at an audience of people who work with timber, who work in forests, I don't see people who are environmental bandits, I see people who are the ultimate conservationists."

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ WTF?????? He's been reading "1984!" As in ''destruction is conservation."

"Abbott is sending the wrong message to the world in promoting industrial logging over protection of the country's native forests."

Tony Abbot is such an idiot, the Australian public in our elections, I think hardly anyone wanted labour or liberal in as they both are as bad as one another, but really its always one or the other. Tony Abbott is doing thing after thing to destroy Australia so his latest comment doesnt surprise me.

Ban Parks? Do the people of Australiahave the power to demand medical/Mental examanition and care for their leader? It sounds to me like Tony Abbott is in need of immediate care.

Thank you once again Cal. Tony Abbott does not believe in global warming, environmental protection or anything to do with science. The man and most of his cabinet are neanderthals and do not have one good brain between them.

Maggie Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, George W, John Howard et al.... Tony Abbott is cut from the same cloth...

Abbott is essentially a troglodyte when it comes to the environment, conservation of natural heritage, ... actually regarding all public policy that would contribute to the good of Australia and the majority of the public..., he is an embarrassment to Australia and tramples with hob-nailed boots through the fragile gardens of world diplomacy...

We need a petition to remove Tony Abbott from office. Then and only then will he listen to the people and not special interest groups who are probably giving him a kick back.

We have to be very, very careful how the world's resources are used and cared for. If we don't take care today, we could be regretting our actions for a very long time.

Well it is apparent another "civilized" nation bites the dust in regard to protection of the environment over corporado greed. Another elected conservative leader who is hell bent on destruction of the planet. Australians need to rally to save your protected lands because the next move will be to return the protected lands and waters to unprotected status and will be plundered and plastered by the corporados. What a world we are becoming!
