ACTION is louder than words. You are all doing your best but it is Not enough. Block the ports, Block the roads, surprise demonstrations this whole policy that Australia is following shall be the end of this magnificent, unique and wonderful land.BOOT out the government before Australia, it's wonderful landscapes unique flora and fauna is lost forever. This will not only be an Australian tragedy but a world disaster.

Noted with thanks Cal.Queensland Greens Senator Larissa Waters has said "Right now, the Abbott Government is treating the reef like a highway for coal ships and gas ships and like a rubbish tip for gas spoil, and of course they've just destroyed climate action last week in the parliament, so we need to turn around those policy pathways or we will lose the reef." In this very changed world the emphasis seems to be on Money!

The Qld State & Federal LNP governments' only objective is to 'balance the books'. They have no vision for this country. It's a sad time for Australia. If there are Aussies viewing this post, please support GetUp!, it's doing all it can to stop the GBR and many other areas from being destroyed by this idiotic government. Thank you, Cal for this post.

The Abbot government has become a menace they won't be satisfied until the reef is gone and then they will expect other governments to come to their aid in order to save it.

This is what happens in any nation when you elect radicals. We all need to elect moderates of any party who can work with the majority in the best interests of society and the environment. Seeking a safe balance is hard work and difficult. Pillaging and plundering the earth is easy. And, all for $$$$$$ and greed now with no thought of the future.

The Australian government seems to be run by US republicans. Not only is the reef environmentally important but also in tourism income. Lose the draw from the reef and it will hurt local business economies. Sad.
